Amanda's Covers

Amanda watched on the webcam as I was making her unicorn cover...I have had people watch the cam for parts of their orders, but this was the first time someone had ever watched from start to finish and it was fun for me! We had a great time chatting while the design stitched out. :)

As you know, I am putting your 3D covers into the mail first thing in the morning, so you should have them by Tuesday I would think. Thanks again, it was a blast!

Cheryl's Customs

These 6 Bum Genius diapers were lots of fun. I especially love the kitty on pink and the Girl's Rule designs. :) I am holding them until the Wish tote for your friend is finished (hopefully tomorrow), and then I will get everything out in the mail to you.

Design Gallery

It would be impractical for me to list or picture every design that I have in my library (at last count in late 2006, there were over 4,000), but I have added links to certain design sets that I have as well as design websites you can browse through.

Most of these sites have a page you can view with design stitch count, finished size, and thread colors. Please keep in mind that I can resize most designs to fit my medium embroidery hoop which has a 4"x5" stitching field (and is the one that fits into the pocket of pocket diapers). The vast majority of sets that I purchase are the largest design sizes I can get because it is easier to size them down than it is to size them up (what this means for you is that a design that is at it's largest size and has 30k stitches can often be sized smaller which means less stitches and less expense since my fees are based on stitch count).

I can also change thread colors to suit your needs, add several designs into one, add or remove text, etc...your possibilities are limitless, so have fun designing the perfect diaper!

My favorite place to find designs is:

Chances are, if you find the design you like at Embroidery Library, I already have it in my collection. I get most of my designs from here and the selection is enormous. I have hundreds of individual designs for children and adults, in addition to the design sets listed below...just click the titles to see the sets.

3d~Diaper and Embroidery Pricing

YDME...Your Diaper, My Embroidery
You can send diapers and covers that you already own (as well as tee shirts, jeans, whatever!) and I can embroider the design of your choice onto it. If you are sending a PUL pocket diaper to me for embroidery, please read 3d~Embroidering Pocket Dipes to understand how the process is done.

Embroidery prices for YDME are based on stitch counts (sts) as follows:

Up to 10k sts = $10
10k-14k sts = $12
14k-16k sts = $14
16k-18k sts = $16
18k-20k sts = $18
20k-22k sts = $20
22k-26k sts = $24
After 26k sts I price according to the industry standard of $1 per 1000 stitches. I am able to add text to most designs as well and can usually do that for very little to no added expense.

Applique designs are sometimes lower stitch counts, but are a bit more involved and time consuming in prepping the fabrics and cutting, so there is an additional $2 charge per design. Fabrics used in applique may vary from the ones shown in design examples but I can always accommodate the color scheme you have in mind.

3d Diapers and Covers
All my diapers and covers are side snapping and turned & top stitched for a cleaner look.
3d fitted diapers have a full body layer of organic bamboo velour (OBV) with a 2 layer sewn-in soaker as well as an external 3 layer lay-in soaker, both made from OBV. Any embroidery under 15K stitches is included in the prices below.

(OBV) fitteds with embroidery are $32 ~ this is your choice of a natural or dyed OBV inner and outer layer with the soakers described above.
OBV/print fitteds (no embroidery) are $24 ~ this is an OBV inner layer next to baby's skin and a cotton print outer layer with the soakers described above.
OBV/Minkee fitteds with embroidery are $30 ~ this is an OBV inner layer next to baby's skin and a Minkee outer layer with the soakers described above.
Minkee/Minkee fitteds with embroidery are $36 ~ this is a Minkee inner and outer layer with the soakers described above except the lay-in is also Minkee covered.

3d diaper covers can be made from waterproof PUL (polyurethane laminated fabrics), Minkee, suedecloth, fleece, and wool. Embroidery designs up to 15K stitches are included in the price.

PUL/fleece (or suedecloth) covers are $26 ~ this is an outer of waterproof PUL and an inner of either fleece or suedecloth.
Minkee/Minkee covers are $34 ~ both outer and inner are Minkee and there will be a hidden waterproof PUL layer.
Fleece/fleece covers are $26 ~ both the outer and inner will be fleece.
Wool ~ Please inquire.

3d pocket diapers can be made with PUL (polyurethane laminated fabrics), Minkee, fleece, and suedecloth. They are front loading and include a 3 layer OBV insert. Embroidery up to 15K stitches is included in the price.

PUL/fleece (or suedecloth) pockets with embroidery are $28 ~ these are a waterproof PUL outer with either a fleece or suedecloth inner.
Minkee/Minkee pockets with embroidery are $36 ~ they are a Minkee outer with a hidden waterproof PUL layer and a Minkee inner.

You can visit my instock store to see what I have available and ready to go, or you can order a custom diaper or cover by email or IM...the links to contact me are on the sidebar. I normally do not have a long wait time for customs and can get most items made within just a few days, but my family does come first. I will let you know a date for completion when we are discussing your order.

Stitch counts are always included on the design sites, so if you are browsing one of the sites listed in my Embroidery Gallery, look for the stitch count and you will know my fee for doing the embroidery. I buy most of my designs in the large or medium sizes, so keep in mind that many times I can resize the design to fit my medium hoop (which is the one I use for pockets and covers) and will give it a lower stitch count. If I am able to do that it will be reflected in the price you are quoted.

A little bit about 3D

It was suggested to me that I should keep a store blog, and since I love blogging, I figured I would go ahead and set one up!

A little bit about me...my name is Sherry, and I have been married to the love of my life for the past 19 years. He is a professional chef and barista, and even though he isn't working in the field at the moment, it is where his heart is. We have four brilliant, beautiful children...our son who is 17 (next month to be 18...sniff sniff) and thinks he is going to head off to join the Marines at the end of the summer :( , our totally spoiled, beautiful princess who just turned 16, a son who is 10 and has given me some heart wrenching moments and also been my easiest child...followed by my baby boy who turns 5 next month (the day after his oldest brother), and has made up for his middle brothers easy going ways by being my most challenging child! He absolutely cannot be alone and is my shadow. He can probably sew better than I can at this point! hahaha But, there is never a dull moment in our house, and I like it that way!

We are also hoping to adopt a sibling group from Ethiopia later this year...as if life isn't crazy enough as it is! It isn't easy as we are coming to realize, and we may not be able to adopt the three we have fallen in love with. Your prayers in this matter would be greatly appreciated! You can read more about our adoption process on our blog, The Journey to Africa.

So, about my craft...my love for sewing began 25 years ago when I was introduced to quilting by my Nana and my Aunt Peg, and it naturally progressed into sewing cloth diapers and clothing when my first child was born in 1990. I added embroidery several years ago and have been enjoying that aspect combined with handmade children's items ever since. I have two venues online where I sell my creations, my main store DeebleDdo, and my Etsy Store. Since I make and sell quite a few different items, I tend to list cloth diapers, covers, and diaper clothing sets in my main store and leave the Etsy store for other craft items like I Spy bags, quilts, stuffed toys, and other cloth diapering related items, though you will see cloth diapers in the Etsy store as well...I shift inventory frequently to get more exposure.

I think every customer at some point has asked me about the store name. When I had my last baby in 2003, his nickname became DeebleDdo, or 3D for short. When I sold my former business in May 2007, I didn't think I would ever get back into the cloth diaper world, and yet I can't seem to stay away because cloth diapers are just so fun to make! But, I needed a unique name and 3D was the first thing that popped into my mind. :)

I will be using the blog to keep my customers informed about the status of their custom orders and to announce themes or new items that I am working on. The comments section is open and I read them all, so please feel free to leave me messages in that way, and of course you can use the email link in the sidebar to get a hold of me.

Thank you for your friendship and patronage!

Sherry
