LadderLuffaLoo

My friend Twilla and I were chatting yesterday and I told her I was feeling crafty and wanted to make something, but didn't know what. She suggested a giraffe...well, ok! I wanted to make something cuddly and soft, so a Minkee pillow seemed to be just the thing!

Since today is her birthday, I'm going to gift it to her...thanks for the fun project idea...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! ♥

The Tooth Fairy Revisted...

A million years ago, I made some tooth fairy pillows for my friends three little girls. Since then, she has had another little princess...I DID mention it was a million years ago...

In any case, another pillow was needed, and QUICK, before that first tooth is lost!

I-Spy With My Little Eye...

I-Spy With My Little Eye

Handmade I-Spy bags for your inquisitive child! Perfect for travel and those other times when they need a quiet activity that stimulates their mind, improves dexterity, and keeps them occupied and entertained. The car, plane, church, Dr office, and grocery store are great times for an I-Spy bag. They also make a unique birthday gift!

Bags are constructed of quality fabrics for durability, and all seams are double stitched for safety.  Each bag contains at least 32 different I-Spy items for your child to try to find and a hang tag letting you and your child know what items to look for. The carry loop allows you to use a carabiner or other fastener of your choice to attach to a backpack or travel bag.

I can make custom bags (fabric and items) around a theme, sports, animals, princess, etc. Bags can also be customized with the name of your child included for them to find in the bag for a small fee. I can also embroider their name or initials. Just let me know if you would like a custom bag.

I-Spy bags are intended for children ages 5 and up as they have small parts.

Tooth fairy pillows

A change of pace for me! Instead of diapers, I have been working on these three tooth fairy pillows...what fun! The front of each has the embroidered fairy design from this set and the applique is done with the coordinating fabrics. Personalized with names as well. The reverse side is the matching gingham with a full length pocket for holding letters to the tooth fairy as well as the tooth itself. A sweet keepsake!

A walker tote

A few Sunday's ago, I saw one of my 'grandma's' at church...she had acquired a walker to help her get around with a bit more stability. She had her handbag looped over the top of the walker which made moving a bit ungainly, so I told her I wanted to make her a tote.

I used these basic directions and made a nice tote which she was thrilled with yesterday when I delivered it. I didn't think to take my camera and get a photo with it attached to the walker, but it looked just like the one in the link above...just different fabrics!

It was fun and a nice change from diaper making...pun intended. ;)

Fun stuff for Adriana

Carolyn asked me to make a Skulls & Roses fitted diaper for her to match the cover I had up at Etsy, as well as a few wetbags to make using cloth easier at Adriana's preschool. Carolyn picked half a dozen designs and then gave me artistic license to choose which design to match with the PUL. I think they turned out so cute!

Waterproof PUL cover with fleece inner & print fitted.

2 full OBV layers with a hidden 2 layer OBV sewn-in soaker & a 4 layer lay-in soaker.

Rear of fitted

Side snapping fitted with leaf green snaps

Embroidered waterproof PUL wetbags with drawstring and cord stop.

Wetbags are personalized for Miss Adriana!
I will print postage tonight and they will be on their way to you first thing in the morning. Enjoy!

So curious!

Doesn't everyone love Curious George? He was one of my childhood favorites! It was fun to put him on these Bum Genius pocket diapers.

Yuko, the dipes are done, but I am not going to be able to finish the shorts or wetbag today like I thought I could. We have a training class to go to at 5pm and I have homework to finish for it. I will get them done tomorrow, take more pics and update the post tomorrow before I send them out.

*Edited to add the rest...and I'm sorry for the delay! Here they are!

I made the wetbag with a zippered top and a snapping strap so you can hang it over the doorknob or wherever! It is 13" x 15" so should be plenty big enough for 6 or more cloth diapers. It has a PUL waterproof inner and you can pull it out to wipe it clean or for a quick spot wash.

I will get everything back out today on my way to take the boys to the pool.

Puggles!

I have been working on something different than diapers today! Tonight is awards night for our church's AWANA program. I am the Puggles director...they are 2 year olds, and I had so much fun teaching them this year. As a special treat, I decided to make them each a stuffed puggle (a baby platypus)...I love how they turned out! They are so soft and cute!

Secret Sisters

Back in January, our church decided to have a Secret Sister exchange...an opportunity to get to 'know' someone from a form they filled out with likes and dislikes, learn who their spouses and children are, and pray for their family. Over the months I have received many things from my secret sister...a mug, many many gourmet chocolates, a beautiful bead bracelet, hair goodies, and it goes on. I have been very spoiled!

With my hubby's months of illness and subsequent hospitalization, I felt like I was not spoiling my own secret sister enough because I wasn't here...though I did remember her and her family in my prayers and gave the occasional goodie bag as I could. Tonight is our Secret Sister unveiling...a spa night, a night for being pampered...and I wanted to give my secret sis something special that I made myself just for her. I made this tote and filled it with a few of her favorite things...crossword puzzle books, flower seeds, and her favorite chocolates! I hope you enjoy it Mary!

Minkee lovies to go...

At 11:30 last night, I got a desperate IM from my friend Stacy. Seems her baby girl has decided she must have a lovey to snuggle against her face...and if she doesn't have one, she is not a happy camper. Since they co-sleep, Stacy wanted something smaller than a blanket, but big enough to be comforting, so I made these 18" square. And...she wanted them yesterday because they are getting ready to go on a road trip! Nothing like a deadline to get me motivated!

So today I made these minkee lovies. Benartex makes absolutely the best minkee products, the blue is their aqua gelato and the orange is their citrus gelato. I have backed the blue one with a super soft, medium pile poodle fleece. The orange is a denser, low pile poodle fleece. The lovies are yummy!

I hope Saige loves snuggling into them. :)
