Getting Crafty...again!

I've got myself another Bernina...oh happy, happy day! So, that said, I am slowly going to be sewing, embroidering, crafting, and offering some items on Etsy, so check the right sidebar for the latest goodies!

Open for Holiday Customs!

Our move to Arizona went well and without major incident...I had been very nervous that our old van wouldn't make the trip hauling a medium sized Uhaul trailer...and even though the rear tires sank into the wheel wells (I am blaming it on the fabric, and not my motorcycle...lol), we managed fine and in great time to boot!

The new place we are renting is very nice and a real bargain for the area we are in. The kids have a castle in back to play in, complete with tower and dungeon. The roads have lots of open space for speed, and twisties for the Ninja, and in the winter time when we get hit with 15 feet of snow, there are miles and miles of open space for sledding and skiing. Sunset Crater is practically out our front door as is Mt Humphreys and Snowbowl. We are excited!

I am going to be able to open for customs sooner than I had thought, so if you have something you are wanting to have made for the holidays, now is the time! I haven't found an outside job yet, but it is going to be a necessity for awhile until our house in Idaho is sold (a mortgage, and a rent that is double the mortgage...YIKES!)...once I do have a job, my sewing time may become limited. I hope not, but that is what may end up happening!

Break Over!

I had a great holiday and an even better time in January when my husband and I flew down to San Diego to see our son graduate from USMC boot camp. My very own Marine...I have always wanted one! :D He is not really thrilled with the photo...said it makes him look 15 years old. haha


...but now, it is back to work! I am once again open for YDME and custom sewing. I still have a few pocket diapers, cloth diaper covers, and pillowcase dress / pocket diaper sets that are clearanced at 3d ~ deebleDdo @ Etsy, so please take a peek to see if there is something you might have had your eye on. I would like to have all my current instock items sold before I begin adding new items.

CLEARANCE time!

I am going to take a break from diaper making for awhile, and with that in mind, would like to get rid of all my remaining instock items. EVERYTHING at my Etsy is CLEARANCED.

I have embroidered Minkee and specialty covers for $13, embroidered PUL pockets for $12, embroidered PUL and fleece covers for $10 and $12, pillowcase dress sets with pocket diapers for $20 and embellished UBIPFs for $1.50.

Some of the items are Christmas themed and I can get them out in time for you to have them for the holiday.

Customs are closed

I am closing my customs list through the holidays and into 2010. My oldest son will be graduating from Marine boot camp in mid-January and then home for a couple weeks afterward, and I plan to spend as much time with him as possible.

I plan to re-open the customs list again around the first part of February. Look for some new items to be stocked at Etsy around this time as well! Gift certificate holders can contact me at any time to redeem their items of choice. :)

On sale at Etsy...and another update!

I have put everything at my Etsy on sale! Please take a minute to see if there is anything you might like. :) My store update is below the Etsy Mini...

Well, it has finally happened!! We have been licensed for 3, and I am clearing out my sewing room to make space for our new foster children! It's a big job moving all my fabrics, machines, and tables...and it will take me awhile to get everything set back up in my new, much MUCH smaller space. In light of that, my sewing break is going to extend a bit longer than originally planned. I apologize, but there is just too much going on here at home for me to have any extra time to devote to custom sewing orders right now.

That being said, I will remain open for YDME customs but please expect turnaround time to be one week from receipt of your diapers until they are complete and ready to be returned to you. I will also continue to stock a few items on the 4th Monday of each month at Avant-Garde, so if you haven't checked out this great congo of WAHM's, please take a minute to look at the talent and browse their shops!

Some updates

At the end of June I will be closing for new custom sewing orders until August. I will still be taking YDME (your diapers, my embroidery) orders on a first come first serve basis as well as listing pre-made items at my Etsy shop and both WAHM Nation and Avant-Garde congos once each month. The links are in my sidebar.

Sports Collaboration

This waterproof cloth diaper cover is just one of the items that will be stocked at Avant-Garde on June 15th...it's part of a sports collaboration lottery that will include a clutch-ball, onesie, and burp cloth from Amy @ Ellie Jayne Designs, a sherpa cloth fitted diaper from April @ Joyful Baby, and a pair of soft-sole baby shoes from Kristin @ Adorned by Kristina Kate.

Customs Updates

My dh is having another surgery on Wednesday and has pre-op stuff happening tomorrow morning, so customs are going to be pushed back a few days. I apologize for this.

Charise, embroidery is complete and I will try to get the diaper put together and out in the mail tomorrow once we get home...at the latest it should be in Wednesday mornings mail.

Jenni, I am going to get your order started tomorrow afternoon and am hoping to have everything ready to go out on Friday afternoon. I am really sorry for the delay.

Laetitia, I am going to stick your 5 emb FBs into the mail tomorrow and will hold on to the 6th for a future embroidery as you have said you are sending more to be done? Please let me know if you see this...I have also sent you an email.

WAHM Nation!

I have joined a great new Congo, WAHM Nation! It is a Congo full of other craft artisans like myself, but you will find much more than just cloth diapers! Cloth Diaper Nation

After several years posting on a different cloth diapering forum run as a business interest by someone more concerned with bottom line profits than the members that are served, who seems to think censorship is a necessity (regardless that we are all adults and have our big girl panties on) and also always manages to put my anti-virus and spam software into high gear...I found Cloth Diaper Nation. What a fun forum! I feel very involved and connected to the members here after only a month. It is a forum just for the love of cloth diapering and not out to profit from it's members. There are no sidebar ads, and NO constant virus or spam threats!

At nearly 1400 members strong, the "for sale or trade" (FSOT) section is very active, the knowledge base for cloth diaper information is great, and there are a number of other fun forums to keep you involved and active. Best of all, the momma's (and daddy's) are helpful, funny, and nice! It's pretty much a drama free zone as well!

If you are looking for a great place to hang out with like minded cloth diapering mommas and want to be involved in an active forum, Cloth Diaper Nation should be your first stop. I hope to see you there!

Stocking tomorrow and an update

Just stocking a few things from Etsy into my HyenaCart tomorrow. I figured with Easter right around the corner, I should give them as much exposure as possible! I still haven't decided which cart I will be using in the future, but I am leaning towards HC right now.

In other news...we are back home after our hospital stay and my dh is feeling much better, though he still gets tired pretty easily. Hopefully he won't have any more problems and will recover quickly! Thank you to those of you who sent me emails, called, and offered prayers and encouragement, it meant so much to both of us! :)

Just an update

On Sunday the 15th, my husband was very very ill. On Monday I took him to the Dr because his skin and eyes were about as yellow as can be. We were sent to the ER and admitted. After numerous tests and failed procedures, we were transferred on Saturday to Sacred Heart in Spokane and a physician who specializes in the procedure he needs. They say he has some sort of impacted obstruction in his bile duct but can't be sure what it is because they can't really see it.

In any case, he is going in for a another procedure at 3pm today called an ERCP...this will be his second one, but the first with a physician who specializes in them. We are praying that it's successful and whatever the problem is is an easy fix for the Dr.

If you have tried to email me and I haven't responded, it is because the internet here is working but for some reason not everything is coming through to my email. IMs are sporadic as well, not sure why. I will return emails as soon as I am able, thank you for understanding. If you are a praying person, we would appreciate those! Thank you. :)

HyenaCart or Etsy?

I have been giving some thought to having just one cart. HyenaCart is how I started and I like the ease of using it, but I really don't need two separate carts...I have a hard enough time just keeping one stocked! I think Etsy has more potential for sheer numbers of views, but HC is pretty much specific to babies...and cloth diapers in general.

Any thoughts or comments from those of you that might use one or both of these carts? I am always interested in hearing what works for you and what doesn't!

So, as a test, I am going to stock over the next month just on Etsy and see how it goes. If it seems to go well, I will stay with Etsy for all my regular inventory stockings and just use HyenaCart when I want to run auctions or lotteries. With that in mind, I have just stocked two new items at Etsy including my first pocket diaper with the redesign I have been wanting to do...it's still side snapping and front loading, but has had a tweak in how an insert will be loaded. I really like it and think it will be more comfortable on baby than a normal leading edge opening.

Not out of the woods...

but, a temporary stay has been set forth for the next year until the new CPSIA laws can be clarified and rewritten for small craft artisans like myself. It is a start and I am happy for it!

I am still not planning to stock any new inventory in either of my stores until spring, but I will still be accepting custom embroidery (YDME) and sewing orders on a first come first serve basis as I have done in the past.

3d Status

I am going to open up once again for custom orders on a very limited basis until the multitude of problems with the CPSIA law is resolved. If you have not read about this issue, please take a moment to click the link and inform yourself on how this will affect your future purchases...not just here at 3d ~ deebleDdo, but at all Work at Home and small craft artisans. This new law also affects BOOKS!! Your local schools and libraries will have to destroy millions of 'untested' books or prevent children under age 12 from entering the premises! Read about what the American Library Association has to say!

At this time I am requesting that if you would like something made, to send me an email and we will work out the details. You can also check out my Etsy cart as well as my HyenaCart for remaining in-stock items.

Taking a hiatus

I have decided to take a much needed break from diaper making. I just stocked my HyenaCart and that will be the last of it for awhile. I do still have a few things up on Etsy and will be removing them at the end of the year if they have not sold.

Christmas time!

It's not my favorite holiday, but it's the first runner up! I have had a nice break these past few weeks and am now back to work and will be stocking my Hyena Cart next Tuesday with a preview here on Monday. I am still closed for new custom orders unless you are a returning customer and don't mind having me fit your order in as I can.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your families and are enjoying the winter holiday season!

*edit to say that I will not be stocking until Wednesday the 10th but should still be able to get previews up tonight. :)
